Sage: the herb of Zeus
For ancient Greeks, Sage was a magical plant dedcated to Zeus. It was a symbol of virility and immortality.
Sage grows naturally in Greece in three medical varieties:
Salvia officinialis, Salvia fruticosa and Salvia triloba.
Sage is a stimulating and toning plant which strengthens blood circulation. It regulates blood pressure for persons with low blood pressure.
Sage leaf infusion has antibacterial, antifungal, disinfecting, anti-inflammatory, toning, anticonvulsant properties and reduces sweating.
Sage is used externally as a compress on wounds and in the treatment of colds, sore throat, intestine inflammations and various bites.
Thanks to its content of fitoestrogens, Sage helps regulate painful, pletiful menstruation, reduces blood circulation problems and soothes hot flashes and night sweating during menopause.
Should be avoided by persons suffering from hypertension
